Koch made waves early in his career, especially for his performances in horror films swallow and they/thembut he’s getting a whole new kind of attention. For the most part, though, he handles it with ease. “It feels a little overwhelming,” Koch said of his newfound spotlight. “It’s been a little crazy, but it’s been great and fun. The response has been amazing. Considering everything else, I feel so grateful and happy and excited that I have the opportunity to be on a show that so many people watch and so many people love.
The Los Angeles native had previously spent considerable time in New York, earning a BFA from Pace University. But this latest trip, he says, “was huge because I had so much to do: meetings, talk shows, interviews, etc.” (During that media challenge, he learned firsthand that even a harmless Jokes also have the power to set the Internet on fire right now, and while Koch seemed very friendly and relatable during our interview, his time at home on the West Coast feels even more special. “It’s good,” he said of his day off. “I would relax and play tennis or just hang out with my brothers.”
