The brand claims a bottle of the product is sold globally every 10 seconds. It’s enriched with sweet almond oil and grapeseed oil, and after using it for less than a week, I really understand why it’s so popular. Unlike traditional shower gels, this shower oil lathers to cleanse your skin for the day, creates a sweet (but not super strong) scent, and leaves my skin the smoothest it’s ever been after a shower. Before I even stepped out of the shower, I noticed that my skin looked and felt more hydrated. The brand attributes this to almond oil, which is known to moisturize the skin, protect it from sun damage, and improve skin texture, and grapeseed oil, which is rich in linoleic acid, which increases skin’s moisture and softness.

Being able to use a 2-in-1 product in place of a post-cleansing lotion has completely simplified my body care routine. The luxurious formula emulsifies into a hydrating, velvety creamy lather that easily lathers onto any cleansing tool of choice. It is suitable for use on wet skin in the shower. Over the course of four days of testing, I tried applying it with a loofah, a washcloth, and a mini exfoliating mitt. It creates a very beautiful scent every time and creates the perfect lather when it comes in contact with water.

Even though it’s an oil, the formula is non-greasy and leaves no sticky residue. But for smart people, a little goes a long way. I tend to add two or three pieces to my loofah and buff away the dirt from head to toe for a consistent, silky-smooth finish.

What to Consider Before Trying L’Occitane Cleansing and Softening Almond Shower Oil

Almond Shower Oil has a wonderful subtle scent. However, if you are sensitive to fragrance, this may not be the product for you. Repurchasing it can also be an expensive habit, as it sells for $29 for 8.4 fl oz. But it’s important to note that if you use just a few drops per cleanse, the oil should last for several weeks.
