Kate Moss and Lila Moss won wings at the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show on the same night.
In one of the best moments of the 2024 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, two generations of Moss supermodels appeared back to back on the pink runway. Lila Moss, 22, arrived first, wearing a pastel pink bra and string bikini bottom set. Her two-piece ensemble was styled with metallic chains and matching wraparound sandal heels, plus a giant Muppet-style fringed jacket in the same lavender pink.

Not so with Lila Moss’s Victoria’s Secret wings Technically wing. Instead, the model appears with “Lila” and “VS” spelled out in clear acrylic cursive, with graffitied stars and hearts marking the ends. The embellishment feels a bit like something an aspiring model might draw in a notebook before hitting the big time—although given Moss’s origins, it’s hard to imagine she wouldn’t hit it big. As “I Love Rock ‘n’ Roll” played over the loudspeakers, fashion legend Kate Moss, 50, appeared on stage to cheers from the crowd. Wearing black lace, she embodied the image of a punk rock goddess. A nude dress with a hip-high slit covered a black bra and panty set, which was coordinated with black tulle wings on the shoulders.

Kate Moss walked the runway with oversized hoop earrings and black strappy heels in a look that would rival the original model from the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show. One can’t help but wonder why she wasn’t chosen when she took the global fashion world by storm in the 1990s.

Kate and Leigh Ramos making their Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show debut says a lot about the brand’s current direction (and the casting director’s skills). After a five-year hiatus, Victoria’s Secret is trying to become more inclusive in several ways: Not only is the brand hiring plus-size models like Ashley Graham and Valentina for the first time Transgender models such as Valentina Sampaio, and also emphasized age inclusivity. Other experienced models at the show include Carla Bruni (59) and Tyra Banks (50).
The show seemed to say that mother and daughter may be thirty years apart, but they both belong on the same catwalk—and their looks make them feel most confident.
