Being “5’2” tall, I was worried that tube jeans would overwhelm my petite frame (as wide-leg pants often do). But this style turned out to be perfect; I didn’t have to hem them (as I usually have to deal with jeans without a shorter inseam), and the subtle curved shape of these jeans makes me look much taller than I am ( magic!). These shoes are extremely comfortable, but if you’re in between sizes like me, I recommend sizing down as they sit lower than expected.
Styling-wise, I wanted to counter the baggy, oversized energy of jeans with some fun touches (and a cool star patch pattern). So instead of pairing them with thicker shoes, I opted for my favorite ballet flats (which surprisingly matched my cardigan), and a fitted baby tee that wouldn’t challenge the baggyness of the pants. As the weather gets colder, I’ll swap these out for a cropped knit, colorful cowboy boots, and my favorite Penny Lane jacket to add an edgy, retro vibe. —Esther Newman, affiliate writer
