“Platform 2” is currently the most popular movie on Netflix, according to the platform’s public ranking system.
This Spanish sci-fi horror film is a prequel to 2019’s El Hoyo and tells the story of prisoners living in a tower with one cell on each floor. Residents of this “vertical self-management center” can only eat on a platform from top to bottom, staying for two minutes on each floor.
While the first film received mostly positive reviews, critics’ reaction to Platform 2 was mixed.

The most popular movie on Hulu right now is “Breathless,” a psychological thriller starring Sarah Paulson, Amiah Miller, Annaleigh Ashford, Alona Jane Robbins, Starring Ebon Moss-Bachrach.
Set in 1930s Oklahoma, the film tells the story of a mother convinced her family is being plagued by the region’s horrific dust storms. “Breathless” premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival on September 12 and will be released on Hulu on October 3.
“Salem’s Land” is Max’s most popular movie right now. The supernatural horror film also premieres on streaming on October 3.
Adapted from Stephen King’s 1975 novel, the story follows a writer who returns to his childhood home in Maine, where he soon learns that it is being targeted by bloodthirsty vampires. Starring Louis Pullman, Mackenzie Lee, Alfre Woodard, John Benjamin Hickey, Bill Camp.
On October 3, another horror movie premieres on Amazon Prime Video.
“Trophy House” stars Ariana DeBose as a young chef who is haunted by the former owner of her first restaurant. So far, reviews have been mixed.

Different from this month’s horror genre, the coming-of-age drama “Didi” is currently popular on “Peacock.com”.
The critically acclaimed film premiered at the 2024 Sundance Film Festival in January, where it won multiple awards. Written and directed by Sean Wang, “Didi” revolves around a 13-year-old Taiwanese-American boy living in the San Francisco Bay Area.
