Corridos superstar Peso Pluma and bubblegum provocateur Sabrina Carpenter both had big hits this year and embarked on international tours — and they stand out even among the handful of their musical peers who have achieved huge success in 2024. “Espresso” aptly sums up the two musicians’ professional mantras this year: “I work late/Because I’m a singer.”
Bisso even paid tribute to Carpenter’s wisecracks ahead of Thursday’s show at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center. Wearing a boxy white T-shirt, black joggers and silver Dior B30 sneakers, the Mexican musician rode a Citi Bike through New York City and wore a black lyrically embroidered baseball cap with “I” emblazoned on the front ‘m Work Late”, “Cause”) “I Am a Singer” (back)) were sold at the merch booth during Carpenter’s concurrent Short n’ Sweet tour.
Perso seemed to prove that point when he shared a photo on Instagram Thursday night of himself wearing a hat in the recording studio. The grind never stops.
In a sense, Biso Pluma is already a veritable carpenter. The pair both performed Friday sets at Coachella this spring, joining forces during the festival. A few months later, Peso watched Sabrina’s Government Ball from the VIP rafters during the New York City Music Festival in August. Now, whenever we can, we’ll be keeping an eye out for the Peso Remix Verses short and sweet Luxury inevitably declines.
