This fall’s twist-seam jeans trend has fashionistas hooked

Honestly, I breathed a sigh of relief when summer finally came to an end and autumn took over. While feeling the warmth of the sun on your face is a mid-year treat that I never get tired of, I find that the coolness of fall has a much greater appeal to me. Take style decisions for the cooler times of the year. As a denim fanatic, I find it almost irresistible to wear jeans in all seasons and inevitably end up wearing them during the hottest months of the year. After surviving the sweltering summer, when autumn comes, I can finally breathe a sigh of relief.

As someone who wears jeans a lot, I’m always on the lookout for emerging denim trends to shake up my rotation, and this season I discovered a brand new product that brings new life to my denim collection. What’s more, it’s a style that both my Gen Z sisters (whose wardrobes you can’t possibly mix up) have just invested in. One that stands out. As the name suggests, these jeans have irregular seams that sometimes extend down the front of the jeans, adding volume and appeal. After discovering this emerging look at work, you can imagine my surprise when I discovered that my sister had also recently invested in a pair of twist jeans.

Twist jeans have a more sculptural design and their interesting shape sets them apart from their jean sisters. Wider than a straight fit (a staple in my wardrobe), this emerging design plays with proportions to create a dynamic silhouette that gives the garment a more dramatic effect than standard jeans.

While the new season feels very fresh, brands have been incorporating this trend into their collections for months. I know that COS’s dark gray style will pair well with pointy heels, while ME+EM’s pleated style will bring the drama the evening look deserves.
