Katie Holmes has officially traded in her calf-leg jeans for a new kind of over-the-shoulder fit, and I have to say: she’s using this indie designer’s find. Friday, October 25, dawson creek Star – currently in a revival on Broadway our town— Wear a black double-breasted wool jacket over a purple shirt and sweatpants on the way to the gym and grab coffee.
The highlight of this look, however, wasn’t her perfect fall coat. Here’s her slim white leather Bevza handbag: the purse she can’t seem to stop carrying. By my count, she’s worn it at least six times with burgundy ballet flats, patchwork jeans, a striped sweater, a pleated skirt, and more, easily making it her most-worn bag this month.
After seeing Katie Holmes style it for so many different occasions, from work to errands and casual outings, I certainly started to understand why it’s so fascinating to her. First, this 100% leather design has a feature that few handbags have in this day and age: a long, narrow but sturdy shoulder strap that’s fully adjustable. It also features decorative brass spikelets that essentially act as built-in jewelry. It’s not a true white in color, more like dusty ivory, which means it almost blends in with the wear and grime it’s bound to pick up while wearing it in New York City. Magnetic clasp to keep your mess at bay.
Holmes further accessorized the look with brown gradient aviator sunglasses and a pair of pony sneakers, which she was spotted wearing while walking with daughter Suri Cruise last week. For this walk, she styled her shoes a little differently, wearing a long camel coat and a gray tracksuit. But even so, she’s still wearing the same Bevza handbag and aviator sunglasses, which do look a bit like Ray Ban from a distance.

I haven’t found the exact black coat she wore, but in the last month, she’s worn a buttery yellow short coat from Banana Republic and the aforementioned long brown jacket from The Frankie Shop. Both brands offer similar black wool options, but COS also offers a solid alternative to a stylish stand-up collar that retails for less than $400—a steal by most standards.

The best thing about Katie Holmes and her ever-changing fall wardrobe is that she often eschews the lofty designer labels in favor of La Ligne, Falconeri, Yuni Buffa, ViBi Venezia, APC Relatively affordable items. I think that’s what makes her such a powerful street style muse. Most of the clothes she wears are actually achievable rather than pure wishes.
