The leather jacket trends worth investing in right now, according to Catwalk

Whether real or fake, the power of a leather jacket is unparalleled, full of effortless cool, yet versatile enough to go with almost any outfit. Designers seem to agree, as leather jackets of all types can be seen throughout the Fall 2024 and Spring 2025 collections. They may be a year-round staple, but trends change with the seasons, and we’ve identified some specific leather outerwear styles that are poised to dominate the fashion world next year.

Looking at the Spring 2025 collections, designers like Prada, Coach and Ralph Lauren are taking inspiration from vintage designs, using distressed-effect leather in a variety of silhouettes. Utility pockets are also popular in function and form with well-known brands such as Chanel and Louis Vuitton. Meanwhile, Saint Laurent and Peter Do favored oversized bomber silhouettes.

For a more sedate style, custom leather jackets and blazers are also on the rise. Acne Studios and Diesel, for example, elevated their usual grunge aesthetic with sophisticated cropped collared leather jackets. As far as color trends go, Hermès, Chloe, Versace and Coach are all showing up in various shades of brown.

Of course, there are also plenty of classic biker or biker jackets from Loewe, Moschino and Alexander McQueen, long a champion of avant-garde silhouettes.
