There’s a new celebrity manicure trend on the block, and her name is Frosty Silver Stardust. As someone who’s been obsessed with glittery nail polish my entire life, I’m super excited to see a trend like this pop up in a season dominated by moody red nails and nude manicures. As much as I’d love to try some trends from Hailey Bieber’s fall manicure menu, I’ll never be the girl who sits down at the salon and asks for maple brown or pumpkin spice orange. Speaking of my nails, More is more is more It’s often my state of mind.
That’s why I’m ecstatic about the sparkly silver Supernova manicure that Selena Gomez wore to the Academy Museum Gala on Saturday, October 19. Complete with a custom Alaïa halterneck gown and a new sheer sundress hairstyle, her rock-chick red carpet look felt like it was designed just for me. Needless to say, it was love at first sight when manicurist Tom Bachik later shared a detailed breakdown of the look. Plus, you can replicate it with just one color of polish: a new product from Olive & June called Cosmic Silver.

When Addison Rae posted her iridescent silver nails on Instagram a few days later, it felt like a cosmic event. Created by manicurist Natalie Minerva, the pearly look pairs perfectly with the ethereal vibe of Addison’s upcoming single “Aquamarine.”
“Aquamarine ‘The World is My Oyster’ nails activated,” the budding pop star captioned her selfie on Instagram. You may remember that oyster nails took off last fall and winter, with the Disney live-action movie spawning the broader mermaidcore trend. little mermaid Restart. However, this year’s trend is more minimalist than the three-dimensional abalone shell-style versions we’ll see in 2023.

The beauty of the stardust manicure trend is that you don’t have to go to a salon to get this look. Starry Chrome from Londontown and Star Dust from Nailberry are perfect for creating a silver supernova manicure at home. For a trendier, more alien-inspired silver stardust manicure, look no further than Mooncat. This brand has the best and most fun glitter shades I’ve ever used. I already own and love Ghosts of Hecate, but I definitely plan on collecting Pixiestick and Head in the Clouds soon.

Do yourself a favor and grab some of these trends while they’re still getting ready to take off. Remember the 2020 global chrome powder shortage caused by the glazed donut manicure trend? Yeah… me too, sister.
