Loewe releases spring 2025 pre-collection campaign
Loewe has released its Spring 2025 Cruise campaign, starring Ambika Mod, Ayo Edebiri, Baifern Pimchanok, Drew Starkey, Leo Woodall, Richard Gadd, Rose Wylie and Sue Kroll. Photographed by Juergen Teller, the event features a white background that references traditional fashion iconography, with performers in the background representing human stereotypes such as bodybuilders, medieval knights, and scuba divers. CR Fashion Books Launch of sports fashion magazine
CR Fashion Books A bi-annual magazine covering the intersection of fashion and sports will launch in spring 2025. to report on the relationships between fashion icons and athletes. The platform will also launch e-commerce, exclusive brand collaborations, capsule collections, and men’s and women’s fashion merchandise from athletes and designers. “Fashion and sport are two powerful forms of expression that inspire millions of people around the world,” said Carine Roitfeld. Sorel launches shoe collaboration with Proenza Schouler
Footwear brand Sorel and luxury fashion brand Proenza Schouler have teamed up to launch a limited-edition shoe collaboration. The collection, which debuted on Proenza Schouler’s Spring 2025 runway show, includes the Caribou Mule ($350) and Caribou Chelsea Boot ($400), both in black, ocher and beige tones. The collaborative collection is available now at sorel.com, proenzaschouler.com and select fashion and online retailers such as Nordstrom, Bergdorf Goodman, Neiman Marcus, Net-a-Porter, Ssense and more. Adidas partners with Wales Bonner to launch fall 2024 collection
Paying homage to hip-hop culture, Adidas Originals and Wales Bonner have launched a Fall 2024 collection that includes floral tanks, shorts, tops, tracksuits, hoodies and outerwear. The shoe features a reissue of the Adidas Originals Superstar, two crocodile-print leather versions of the Wales Bonner Samba, and two colorways of the Samba Millenium, both with crocodile-print leather on the heel. Shot by Rennell Medrano, the campaign reflects New York’s Harlem neighborhood and stars professional skaters Carlisle Aikens and Kader Sylla. Cynthia Erivo to Host 2024 CFDA Fashion Awards
The Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) has announced that Cynthia Erivo will host the 2024 CFDA Fashion Awards on October 28 at the American Museum of Natural History. Presenters including Nicole Richie and Paris Hilton introduced U.S. Accessory Designer of the Year, Molly Gordon introduced Google Shopping U.S. Emerging Designer of the Year, Molly Ringwall De (Molly Ringwald) introduced Isabel Toledo (Isabel Toledo) Board of Directors tribute, Ruben Toledo (Ruben Toledo) accepted. Anna Wintour to present Annie Leibovitz Media Award in memory of Eugenia Sheppard, while Marc Jacobs The Founders Award will be presented to Hamish Bowles in memory of Eleanor Lambert. {Fashionista Inbox}
Top fashion designers donate to Kamala Harris
Designers tend to lean politically liberal, while senior executives tend to lean Republican, but WWD A spot check of political donations found that designers still primarily support Democrats. Vera Wang, Michael Kors and Tory Burch are listed as the fashion industry’s largest individual political donors in 2023-24, and have all made significant donations to Democrats. As for retailer donations, Kamala Harris received $2.7 million, while Donald Trump received $1.1 million from industry. {WWD/paywall}
Carlos Nazario launches Moose Knuckles collection for the first time
After being named global artistic director of Moose Knuckles in 2023, Carlos Nazario debuted the brand’s first collection under Moose Lab, a new platform designed for creative collaboration. Nazario’s debut 12-piece collection features outerwear and accessories in leather, Mongolian wool, down and shearling, inspired by functionality and ’90s fashion trends. Former Abercrombie CEO arrested in sex trafficking investigation
Former Abercrombie & Fitch CEO Mike Jeffries, his partner Matt Smith and a third man, Jim Jacobson, ABC News reported was arrested Tuesday in a criminal sex trafficking investigation by the FBI and federal prosecutors in Brooklyn. The investigation involves whether the men sexually exploited and abused young men at parties they hosted in the United States and around the world. Last year, Abercrombie & Fitch faced a lawsuit accusing the brand of funding Jeffries’ alleged sex trafficking operation. {ABC News}
