For Spring 2025, Mancandy’s Andrés Jiménez draws inspiration from “the nervousness of being invited to a big event.” Having conquered the streetwear world, Jiménez asked himself: What would a more formal Mancandy look like? The answer stays true to the casual yet provocative nature of the brand, while also introducing a more elegant point of view. The most eye-catching one was a bright pink halterneck dress with slits on the sides.
Jiménez expanded the concept of formalwear beyond eveningwear and incorporated elements of it into his more casual offerings. His color palette includes shades like purple and beige, paired with bold tones of yellow and orange, his brand’s signature elements, to create pieces that are perfect for the office.
Jiménez has been on the Mexico City fashion scene for more than 15 years, establishing Mancandy as one of the city’s trendy designers. A decade ago, when baggy clothes were being overshadowed by skinny jeans and gender fluidity hadn’t yet hit the spotlight, Jimenez was already betting on both. Today, the brand has a range of best-selling clothing, including the popular “bite jeans” (jeans with cutouts on the sides that have become a uniform for fashion and art lovers) and the designer’s maxi-length coat, launched in 2017, which has remained popular ever since. popular. In many ways, Mancandy is at its peak right now, and the spring collection is a step forward, inviting people to be provocative not just in corporate boardrooms but also at formal events where maxi dresses dominate. We suspect it won’t be ten years before everyone understands.
