This year’s Academy Museum Gala was filled with makeup inspiration, so it’s our fair share of the beauty looks we haven’t forgotten since actress and model Kaia Gerber first hit the red carpet. For a while, we wondered why Gerber’s effortlessly elegant look was so familiar, and then it dawned on us—the Givenchy Fall ’97 dress was reminiscent of Audrey Hepburn in King Vidor Her iconic look as Natasha in the film adaptation of Leo Tolstoy’s novel. war and peacewritten in 1869.
However, there was also something dark and seductive about the makeup—what Gerber herself called “gothic Hollywood glamor” on Instagram. Nina Park, the celebrity makeup artist behind the creation, uses products from Addiction Tokyo to bring her beauty vision to life. “For Kaia Gerber at the Oscars, I wanted her makeup to elegantly modernize her Regency-inspired Givenchy dress. I focused on a luminous palette with blush tones to enhance her features, Highlighting her natural glow and bringing her inner light to the forefront,” she explains.

First, Park prepped Gerber’s skin with Addiction Tokyo’s Makeup Fix Micro Mist, creating a fresh, dewy base. The spray’s ultra-fine water-resistant formula minimizes transfer and fading while also being resistant to water, sweat, oil, and airborne dust and dirt particles. Start by shaking the spray to disperse the biphasic formula, then spray seven to eight times about eight inches away from your face and let dry.

To define her skin while keeping Gerber’s complexion looking soft and natural, Park opted for the brand’s translucent powder. It blends into the skin for a silky smooth finish and brightens the complexion. To use, simply roll the included puff through the mesh-lined lid to pick up product, then press the puff into your skin.

To give Gerber’s look an airy glow, Park used Addiction Tokyo’s glow stick in the shade Below the Moon (a pink-beige color that adds a natural glow to the skin). The glide-on stick formula comes in two textures and can be applied directly to skin where you want an extra glow. Park applied the product to the high points of Gerber’s face.

On Vacay Blush
To extend wear and add rosy color to cheeks, Park used On Vacay’s gorgeous terracotta blush shade for a fresh, healthy-looking glow. The formula is unique in that it blends and builds seamlessly while also being extremely long-lasting. To use, apply blush to skin with a doe-foot applicator and blend with fingers or a brush.

Following the Addiction Tokyo Cheek Tint, Park introduces the brand’s matte blush, Rose Latte, a neutral rose shade that blends seamlessly together to create the natural, radiant look we’re obsessed with. Because the velvety smooth product adds dimension to the face, it looks like Gerber reached over and pinched her cheek! To recreate, twist the blush brush into the compact, tap off excess, and apply to cheeks.

For flawless lashes, preparation is key. That’s why Park uses Mascara Primer Curl Fixer to help maintain curl while adding volume. It’s a clear lash primer with an ultra-fine brush that covers each lash from root to tip, providing 24-hour waterproof effect. For perfect application, start by applying product to the base of your lashes with the brush, then wiggle upwards.

Next it’s mascara time. To create Gerber’s feathery lashes, Park used Black River Mascara Color Nuance WP (describing the brand as “a dramatic jet black with intense shine”). Mascara separates lashes, giving them vibrant color and a translucent effect. The formula is lightweight, buildable and waterproof. To get the same effect, curl your lashes first for an extra lift, then wiggle the formula-coated brush from root to tip.

Retro Tokyo eyeshadow palette
Park used the Addiction Tokyo eyeshadow palette in Vintage Tokyo, a pinkish-brown palette inspired by a dancer’s tutu. First, Park blended warm taupe tones in the crease to create depth, then placed some show-stealing shimmer on the lids. We are obsessed with the final look.

Gerber’s brows are legendary, and they became even more legendary when Park used Addiction Tokyo’s cinnamon brow pencil to create hair-like strokes across the brows and define the face.
