I know this is an unpopular opinion, but winter is actually my favorite time of year. Between the refreshing breeze, cozy layers, and the constant flow of hot drinks, the coldest season is always more enjoyable than I imagined. Of course, another important part of winter’s appeal is the ever-expanding fashion potential. Finally having the freedom to style myself again, I find myself more inspired this time of year and this season I am channeling my inspiration to help me find the perfect winter boots.

While cowboy boots and biker styles pique my interest, I find my eyes keep coming back to the simple, timeless, and carefree pull-on boots that are starting to be seen everywhere these days.

This emerging boot trend features a wide-leg silhouette and zipper-less design, with no frills or sculptural cuts, instead featuring a small block heel and a simple monochromatic wash, giving it an effortless, effortless energy.

These boots usually come in a variety of lengths from high ankle boots to knee-high boots, making them easy to fit into your everyday wear. Wear knee-length jeans with a mini or midi dress, or wear shorter jeans with denim or wide pants tucked into your waistband.

Drawing on the success of Frye’s signature Campus boot—which, unfortunately, is only available in the United States—the simple silhouette takes on a life of its own this season. Newly appearing in a growing number of high street collections, including H&M, Zara, Reformation and Arket, high street brands are getting behind a trend that will dominate this winter.
