MJR: I wrote [“All Mine”]t, this isn’t really about a relationship, but an example of something I went through before with the man I’m with now. I’m glad you asked this question because I think it’s very relevant to me in real life. When I wrote that record, I had dealt with a guy before—before me, and [my boyfriend] Stephen – I realized it was better for me to stay away from them rather than get involved as it would not be beneficial to either of us. I have a feeling this won’t work, but I thought, Damn, how would I feel if you were next to me? I would say that through the course of this story, I did write “Forever” for Stephen. The moment I write this I realize how much he means to me, our relationship has been almost six years and we have built something very solid and powerful and I have never lost him sight. The person she is running from is the person she has always loved. Not the one who killed her, but the one who made her the best person she could be. When Stephen heard this record, he was so laid back, so calm, so sweet. He loved it and thoroughly enjoyed it. I think he didn’t understand him at first, so I had to, really, really tell him and reiterate to him, “Hey, this song is about our journey,” and he got a little emotional, and I was really gratitude. I’m glad it was the last song and I’m glad I brought it to the producers.
