When a celebrity endorses a fall shoe trend, others always follow suit. At least that’s the case with Dua Lipa and Emily Ratajkowski’s favorite pair of Puma Speedcat sneakers. The best-selling shoe will be available in two new colors on the Puma website starting October 12th, and they are sure to become fall’s most popular shoes.
Available now, the Puma Speedcat Archive is a reimagined version of the ’90s racing sneaker. The new colorways – a light blue (dubbed “Light Blue/Navy”) and a light brown and white combination (dubbed “Premium Espresso/Frost Ivory”) – are inspired by Puma’s history.

Brown shades cater to several trends at the same time. Yes, racing silhouettes are absolutely everywhere right now, but toffee brown is one of the most popular colors for fall 2024. While staying true to its origin story: the black rubber sole is designed to evoke the look of racing tires.
The newly launched style has already attracted a celebrity following. Gracie Abrams was spotted wearing the brown version while out walking with her new beau Paul Mescal, cementing the style as one to watch out for right now. The singer wore her Speecats with a blue ensemble that included a ribbed vest, navy pants and a matching navy sweater.

Originally released 25 years ago, the Speedcat was inspired by the fire-resistant shoes worn by Formula 1 drivers in the 1980s and 1990s. Now, with subtle tweaks and colorway changes, it’s become a must-buy for modern sneakerheads on and off the track.
Like Vans sneakers before them, Puma has unexpectedly become a celebrity-favorite sneaker brand. The original red colorway became a must-buy when it restocked in late August, proving that brightly colored sneakers are one of the biggest sneaker trends of the season. While Lipa and Ratajowski were early adopters, the Speedcats later caught the attention of Troye Sivan, who wore them on his Sweat Tour with Charli XCX.
