Kim Jones is parting ways with Fendi, where he served as creative director for four years. He was first appointed as successor to the late Karl Lagerfeld in 2020, taking charge of the brand’s women’s haute couture, ready-to-wear and fur collections. Jones’ collaborator Silvia Venturini Fendi will continue to be responsible for accessories, menswear and children’s wear.
According to the press release, “Kim Jones has made significant contributions to the brand’s creative legacy, seamlessly blending his modern and cross-cultural aesthetic with Fendi’s historical heritage. Under his leadership, the brand has reinvented its ready-to-wear and The haute couture series provides an inclusive and innovative fashion approach that constantly updates Fendi’s Italian style.
Fendi’s spring 2025 collection, shown on the Milan runway in September, was Jones’ last collection for the brand. After finishing his time at Fendi, Jones will “fully focus” on his position as artistic director of menswear at Dior, a position he has held since 2018. Previously, he served as artistic director of Louis Vuitton menswear for seven years.

Jones’ departure comes amid an industry-wide game of musical chairs among creative directors. Recently, Filippo Grazioli quit Missoni, Michael Rider replaced Hedi Slimane at Celine, Glenn Martens left Y/Project, and Sarah Burton joined Givenchy. While there’s no word on who will succeed Jones, the Italian fashion house is rumored to be eyeing Pierpaolo Piccioli, who parted ways with Valentino in March.
