The most relatable thing about Taylor Swift’s style isn’t her long-standing love of Reformation gowns or her tendency to reinvent her favorite garments journey of times Clothing in many colors. Taylor Swift switched to boots because her signature heels were too high to wear all night long.
Let’s recap: On October 7, Swift attended the Kansas City Chiefs game against the New Orleans Saints wearing a pair of knee-high Vivienne Westwood boots paired with a plaid skirt-style ensemble from the brand’s Fall 2024 collection. Her game-day footwear choices—skinny, leather and heels—echoed the tall boots she wore in the season opener. (The following week, she wore the shoes under a retro T-shirt miniskirt.)
Then, while the internet was distracted by her glittery freckles and Chiefs-matching manicure, Swift changed up her shoes a bit.

Sometime between her golf cart debut and the Chiefs win, Swift switched out her boots. Photos shared by her boyfriend, Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, teammates of Swift and several Chiefs Kingdom VIP members show that the “Down Bad” singer’s first pair of shoes didn’t hold up The whole game. As Chiefs players and WAGs gathered for the after-party, Swift had swapped her high leather boots for Stella McCartney ankle-high boots.
Some fans online were distracted by the objectively cute pose shown here. (Also, Swift’s red lipstick is back after a hiatus, allowing her favorite Nars shade to take the spotlight.) I couldn’t help but take a swipe at the boots: They’re identical to her Vivienne Westwood boots ‘s semi-controversial sock silhouette, but they were accessorized with a chunky gold chain. They’re also the inspiration for one of Swift’s most worn brands: Stella McCartney, a close friend of hers, lover album to prove it. Best of all, this pair has a slightly lower heel and a sturdy platform sole, giving Swift more support during those long nights.
A photo after the party showed Swift trading in her first pair of boots for a lower pair of Stella McCartney boots.

Of course, even as a fashion editor, I don’t have a closet full of designers like Vivienne Westwood and Stella McCartney. But this change to the shoe is the closest I’ve felt to a Swift since I first pressed the “Delicate” button. I would definitely pair a pair of statement shoes with an outfit for a photo shoot or grand entrance, only to change to a more comfortable pair later. Of course, I’ve never done that while living a romantic life like Nora Ephron.
