Just because the dark nights are here, doesn’t mean we need to pick out a Halloween costume. The recent Spring/Summer 2025 shows may be ushering in brighter days, but the layering, structured outerwear and bold prints we’ve seen on the runways in New York, London, Milan and Paris are just as applicable for fall.
In London, Chopova Lowena showed patterned tights with hardware and a three-quarter-length snake-print leather jacket. In New York, all eyes were on LaQuan Smith’s military-style shirts, translucent trench coats and crimson feathered jackets. Who hasn’t knelt down for Saint Laurent? The Paris show recreated the brand’s founder’s famous tailoring, including 1980s-style shoulder pads, polka dot ties and chunky leather bomber jackets.
Speaking of beauty, Tolu Coker channeled 1960s glamor at her London Fashion Week show, with models wearing voluminous beehives and black-and-white eyeliner with diffused angles. Harris Reed took it a step further with her doll’s full eyes, long, luscious lashes, and warm golden bronze eyeshadow. But perhaps Luar, with her glossy black lips and exaggerated brows, best embodies this season’s vampiric vibe.

The standout of them all is of course the Xtra boot, a full-suede, knee-high design that we wouldn’t be surprised to see Sabrina Carpenter wearing in her upcoming Christmas special. If you’re looking for something a little more subtle, there’s also a super mini low-top boot with a 1.5-inch heel height, and a range of high-heeled comfort clogs in neutral tones that rival the Tasman’s popularity. Despite being a nostalgic brand for many, Bebe is still being discovered by new generations: the brand is currently ubiquitous on TikTok thanks to its diamond Y2K pasta tops and fitted hoodies. It continues to innovate, hiring pop/R&B icon Ciara as creative director for a capsule collection this season. While many looks were ready to take center stage (a leopard-print jumpsuit had a serious spooky-spice vibe), there were plenty of casual date-night pieces, too. Founded in Amsterdam in 2012, Daily Paper celebrates African culture through its luxurious pieces featuring monogram prints. In October, the brand teamed up with footwear giant Converse to launch a line of unisex sneakers and apparel, most notably the playful Chuck 70s, which feature black logo embroidery, contrasting color stitching and Interchangeable laces in red, yellow and green. Those looking for something more discreet may like the Chuck 70 De Luxe Squared, which features an all-black flat-toe silhouette and a brightly colored base; those looking for something more comfortable should check out the logo-embossed fleece hood shirt and sweatpants.

GU x Rock
Just weeks after launching in the U.S., Uniqlo’s sister brand GU is making another splash in the fashion world by teaming up with former H&M partner Rokh. The 16-piece collection explores tailoring and layering with fall staples such as quilted jackets, pant-over-skirts, armhole sweaters and bustier/button-front combo tops. Gu x Rokh will be available on October 18th with prices ranging from $29.90 to $99.90.
