Do beauty guru know how to wear clothes? Hailey Bieber, who launched Rhode’s Barrier Butter on October 8, chose a pair of croissant rings and a cozy sweater for the occasion, and it certainly looked like it.
Bieber sported the understated combination in a video posted to her skincare brand’s Instagram account, in which she applied Barrier Butter to her cheeks with a sleek bun and no makeup underneath. The croissant rings weren’t as obvious a reference to the moisturizer’s creamy color, decadent texture and crowded waiting list as her past butter-yellow manicures and butter-yellow baby shower nude dresses. However, they’re a cheeky complement to the day’s theme: hydrating formulas so creamy you won’t believe they’re not on the breakfast table. Bieber paired it with a timeless oversized neutral sweater and some rings, like a close friend dialing up your skincare routine via FaceTime in the bathroom. Of course, the high production values and thirty thousand-plus likes remind us that we’re really dealing with the inventor of every major fall nail trend known to women.

As of press time, there was no exact credit for Bieber’s cozy sidekick. If I had to guess, I’d say her sweater is original to the resident guest. She’s been known to support her friend Gigi Hadid by wearing cashmere sweaters from the model’s label.
