Princess Diana’s former dance teacher is sharing how the late royal found freedom and confidence on the dance floor.
in her new book Dancing with Diana: A MemoirAnne Allan, a long-time professional dancer and choreographer, has opened up about her secret one-on-one dance sessions with the late Princess of Wales. The author claims that through movement and dance, Princess Diana was able to escape the restrictions and expectations of the royal family and the media.
According to recent reports, Allen wrote: “[Diana’s]head continued to look at the floor. I gently noticed that the head was the heaviest part of the body.” bystander. “I wanted her to feel the freedom that dance brings, and she did.”
In the book, Allen details her close relationship with Princess Diana, writing that the dance teacher became something of a confidant to the late royal, especially as she and her husband, then-Charles When a prince encounters relationship problems.

According to the book, Ellen and Princess Diana met when the late Princess of Wales was 20 years old. She allegedly opened up to her dance instructor about her turbulent marriage nine years after the pair met for secret one-hour dance lessons.
“I don’t understand why I’m not enough for him,” she said Diana wondered aloud during a dance instruction session. “I think he preferred an older woman.
“I know he saw Camilla again,” Allen added, referring to another exchange with Princess Diana. The husband has a mistress and turns a blind eye! Why doesn’t he love me? I really don’t understand. I’ve tried everything to try to conform to his wishes, even though I don’t always agree. There was no emotion between us, I was always alone.

In another excerpt shared bystanderAllen detailed an incident in which Princess Diana allegedly tried to show off to her then-husband, Prince Charles, with a dance to celebrate his 37th birthday.
“She walked toward Charles, and as she stood before him, I could sense that she was desperate for his approval,” Allen wrote. “He said ‘Well done, darling’ and turned around to talk to someone else.”
As well as highlighting their close relationship, the memoir also details Diana’s “lack of control over her life” and likened the late Princess of Wales’ life to “a fly on the internet,” The Spectator reported.
Allen claims that it was through dance that Princess Diana found some semblance of freedom… just for an hour at a time.
